Mechanistic Reports

Mechanistic Reports are developed by Iconix' expert toxicologists in focused collaboration with customers. The Mechanistic Report can be applied all the way up to clinical candidate nomination and provides a deep and thorough understanding of the mechanism(s) of efficacy and/or toxicity and/or a strong confirmation of safety. This analysis may also be applied to compounds that fail during development in order to understand the mechanism of toxicity and guide backup compound selection. The report provides an in-depth, hypothesis-driven analysis of the compound characteristics based on the complete suite of Iconix tools including, Drug Signatures and Motif Matching, Hierarchical Clustering, Pathway Impact Analysis, Gene Ontology Analysis and Gene Response Analysis.

Each Mechanistic Analysis includes a comprehensive comparison against DrugMatrix; analysis and relative rankings of customer compounds against the Drug Signature library; recommendations on candidate and potential follow-on experiments and recommendations for experiments that would provide additional insight into compound efficacy or toxicity.

Developing the report is a highly collaborative effort between Iconix scientists and the customer, combining the toxicogenomics expertise of Iconix and the customer's knowledge of the compounds in order to guide the direction of research. Iconix toxicology and informatics staff spend as much as 6 - 8 weeks working with a client to customize the data analysis, providing exactly the depth and scope desired. An interim report is provided to the customer for discussion and refinement, followed by the final report and an oral presentation if desired.
